若想要在臺打工，必須向勞動部申請工作許可函。
工作許可有效期最長為六個月，每週工作時間最長為20小時。
未經許可而從事工作將面臨新台幣3萬元以上15萬元以下的罰鍰，甚至可能被強制驅逐出境。
